Finally got the finish right. I had runs and drips and a puddle in the bottom. I have sanded it smooth and reapplied the finish 4 or 5 times.
I got the outside finish right a few days ago.
But the inside was a real challenge. But finally it looks good.

25 Mar 21 - Truck and Camper Detail
Had to mobile detail-er out today to wash and wax the camper and the truck. They do a real good job. They brought the shine back.
Truck is pretty when it is clean. I am sure by tomorrow night it will be covered in yellow pollen.

25 Mar 21 - Another Mahogany Project
Took this piece of Mahogany and cut it in half and shaped out a spatula on the band saw.
Going to make another spatula with the piece on the right.
The olive wood spatula on the top in this picture was purchased in Israel in 2017 and it cracking down the middle. So I decided to make the smaller spatula today. Still have to Bees oil it a few times before I can use it to make breakfast, then it will turn purple like the other one.

22 Mar 21 - Day 2 of Making a Mahogany Bowl
Chip pile from day one.
Working on the inside of the bowl
Still making chips.
Chips were flying.
Pile is somewhat bigger than it was on Saturday.
I had to put some glue on the backside to keep some of the bark on.
Lots of sanding with many grits of paper.
This is the piece of bark that I had to glue so it didn't let go.
Pretty grain in this piece.

17 Mar 21 - Final Bench Assembly
Today is the final glue up for the back and arms. The owner said she bought this bench in 1973 for $15 as one of the first pieces of furniture for her first apartment. She has been afraid to set anything on it for years because it was so bad. Straps below to hold it tight. Video below of just how tight the straps are.

16 Mar 21 - Assembly!
Gluing on the legs and cross braces. Used the straps to hold it all tight.
Dried all afternoon.
Getting ready to glue the back and arms in place. Had to develop a plan to get everything in place before the glue sets. Tomorrow I will get this glued in place and strapped up to dry.

15 Mar 21 - More Bench Work
Got all the holes drilled for the back and arms and test fit them.
Test fitting looks good.
Using the old seat to measure the angles for drilling the holes for the legs.
Hope I get this right.
Drill press table set at 10 degrees then the seat propped on the edge to 6 degrees. Love compound angles.
Digital angle gauge came in handy.
Looks like I got it right.
I put it on the floor and it sat level and I even sat on it and it didn't collapse. I have not glued anything together yet. Enough for one afternoons work. More tomorrow.

14 Mar 21 - Installed Shocks on the Washing Machine
Front loading washing machine has been doing some serious banging during the spin cycle. I was talking to Jonathan about it and he said his washer was doing the same thing and he replaced the springs on his top loader and that stopped the off balance problem. So I did some research on ours to find there are shock absorbers to dampen the spin cycle. So I ordered one and when it came in Kathy and I disassembled to find it has 4 of them. So I ordered 3 more and they came in yesterday.
This morning we took the front and back off again to replace the other 3, cuz we did the one I had when we took it apart the first time.
The old shocks. The washer no longer bangs in the spin cycle! Job accomplished.
