The last 2 times I have emptied and flushed the black water tank (poopie tank) and used the black tank flush connection the water has leaked from somewhere. The red and blue hoses are not leaking, it is water running from somewhere inside the camper. It doesn't leak any other time. I called the Mobile RV Repair guy and he came over Tuesday late afternoon. He brought a part with him that he thought was the culprit of the leak. He diagnosed the leak coming from the part he brought but the problem was locating the leaking backflow valve.
We diagnosed the location of the valve behind the 12 volt electrical panel. So he removed the screws and pulled out the panel so we could see behind it. No valve there so we looked further and determined the valve was in the back wall inside the cabinet behind the panel. So yesterday Kathy and I took a cutting tool to the wall inside this cabinet to locate the valve.
The first cut of the panel did not reveal the valve, I thought it was inside the wall in the bathroom, which would be harder to hide after cutting an access.
But I took my camera and took this picture and there is the valve about 4 inches lower that the hole.
So I enlarged the hole to expose the valve. I replaced the valve and did a leak test, low and behold no leak. Problem solved.
New valve installed.
I was going to put a piece of shower curtain over the hole to protect the electrical stuff from the water and Kathy said don't you have plexiglass and wouldn't that work better. So I cut a piece and placed it over the new access hole. Since this hole is behind the electrical panel no one will see it unless we take out the electric panel. Easy but challenging repair.
