I finished the frame on the pump house today. It is now ready for siding. Maybe tomorrow we will go and get it from Home Depot, but that depends on the wind. It is very windy to day and I don't want to wrestle 4X8 foot sheets of siding. I am not going to put it on until they are done with the pool. They have to install a chlorinator, see the white box next to the filter?
I have all the siding measurements recorded on how they will be cut.
Once they are cut I am going to paint them before putting them on! Should be easier.
Got the old door put back on!

31 Dec 2020 - Pool Resurfacing Day 5 - No More Green!
The 2 guys showed up around 9 am and went to work rolling on the bonding agent that will help the new surface adhere to the old one.
They put a new light bulb in the light and a new gasket and then started cutting in the bonding agent below the water line tile and around the returns and the light.
Then they went to work rolling the walls and the bottom.
The put the bonding agent on top of the tiles on the step edges in the shallow end.
Finished and on the their next job before noon.
It looks better grey than the green that was there this morning.
Tomorrow the step tiles get set and one other surprise! You will have to wait until tomorrow to see what they are.

30 Dec 2020 - Pool Pump House Rebuild
Yesterday I decided to remove the siding from the pump house because it was rotting at the bottom. I got 3 sides off and realized the aluminum framework was also rotting. The post in the front right corner was not setting on the concrete pad any longer.
I used the piece of plywood and a 2X4 driven in the ground to keep it from falling over.
Last night Kathy and I went to Home Depot to get supplies so I could start the rebuild today.
I first replaced the south east corner post, then the north east corner post, then the south west one and lastly the north west one. The last one I removed was the center one on this west side. There was the sprinkler control box and the fire pit light controller attached to that post.
Adding some corner bracing to reduce the amount of rocking that it did when lightly pushed on from any side.
Corner bracing on the south side.
Corner bracing on the east side.
Finally put the corner brace on the east side, and with that no more side to side movement! Tomorrow I have to frame the screen door. I will also develop a plan to side it without wasting a lot of T-111 siding.

30 Dec 2020 - Pool Resurfacing Day 4
Today the water line tile got grout. It was mixed thick and pushed in with his hands. Below - Then they poured the gap behind the tile where the brown tile sat on the edge of the pool. They will have to do a second pour because it will shrink and crack when drying.
Pouring the cake batter behind the water line tile.

They started at the skimmer.

Around the corner in the shallow end.

They will do above the skimmer hole tomorrow.

Video around the pool!

28 Dec 2020 - Pool Day 2 - End of Day Progress
Today was very productive! Removed all the water line tiles with the chipping hammer.
Removed the deep end steps from the shell, removed the light. All the brown edge tiles are gone!
Ground around the return jets so new ones can be put in.
Installing the new deep end steps.
Steps done.
They are done for the day!
I got in the deep end and didn't get wet! Very exciting. Was told today that they will shoot the new finish on Tuesday.

28 Dec 2020 - Pool Resurfacing Day 2
27 Dec 2020 - Pool Resurfacing Day 1!
Before resurfacing picture. Notice how green the pool looks, the guys say that it because of the copper in the water that adhered to the surface over time.
David, the owner of "The Pool Butler", came over at 5 pm tonight to start the draining process so his guys could start in the morning.
By bed time it was down a little bit.

19 Dec 20 - Fire Wood Crib Completed
I finished the fire wood crib and got it into place and level. I put a kindling shelf at the top.
Kathy says it is too big for the amount of wood we usually get. We will see! I am glad I cut 10 inches off the posts before I put the roof on!

18 Dec 2020 - Fire Wood Storage Day 2
I did cut almost of foot off the top of the corner posts to shorten it, which I think looks much better. Should be done tomorrow and then I will have to level the 4 pavers that it will set on and move it into place.
17 Dec 2020 - Fire Wood Storage Build
This is the almost 6 year old that lives next door. He is helping clean up the slab with the little broom.
About 3 years ago when the fire pit was built we got a load of wood which I stacked against the fence on those old 4X4's lying on the ground. They are now all ant ridden and rotted. Since the stack of wood is almost gone I decided to make a storage crib for the next load of wood. I got this far today.
Kathy says it is a little to tall since it sticks over the fence. I agree with her so I will cut some off the top tomorrow.
I ran out of daylight today.
