On the way south today we were in the Melbourne Florida area talking with Hollie and the kids on face time and we hear a large explosion. It was "Got to go Hollie, we just had a blowout!" We saw smoke rolling out from the passenger side thru the mirror and knew it was us. We got stopped on an exit ramp to make a pit stop like tire change. As you can see it did a little damage to the metal behind the tire, it looks to be all cosmetic, so that is a good thing.
The explosion ripped the entire tread cap off the tire and it was being dragged instead of continuing to beat up the metal behind the tire. We put out the safety triangles and did put the spare tire on. We got off at that exit and found a Rooms-to-go parking lot and had a bite of lunch. We called around looking to get the spare replaced. There wasn't a tire to be found in Melbourne, we located one in Ft. Lauderdale and asked Jonathan to pick it up, which he did. We did not need it for the rest of the trip, I hate to travel without a spare tire. We did blow to tires in one weekend back in Feb 2014, not a good weekend.
We did arrive a the RV park with no more issues.
