3 Aug 2020 - Must have been cold in the truck and humid outside for the camera lens to be fogged up!
On the way back from Ocala today on HWY 40 we got a "Fast Leak" warning on the Tire Pressure Monitor. The pressure went from 125 psi down to 106 psi before we found a side road to turn into. It could have been much worse. Hwy 40 in some parts has very few places to pull off in the national forest. So I got to do a tire change today!
The tire didn't go flat or explode and cause lots of damage. That could have been a very bad thing. I did get the spare on, which I had to put some air in before we hit the road. We were about 15 miles from home so we took it slow and get home safely.
This is what I found when it inspected the tire for why it was loosing air. The rubber valve stem had started to crack. So this afternoon I took it to the tire store and they put on a metal valve stem so that won't happen again. I have to take the other 3 off and to the store so they can fix those before they do the same thing. Then I will scrape and paint the white rusty spare. It was a good day despite this less than 1 hour delay.
